Tys in Philly area...ANY?

What's the deal? I've been in SE Pennsylvania for over a year now and have only seen ONE Typhoon. Sure, I'm spoiled having lived in L.A. for 17 years where I had a Grand National and hung out with all the Turbo V-6ers, but this PA is pathetic! Did everyone forget to take them out of winter storage??

I'm in the market for Typhoon but now I'm thinking I'll be the only one around here with a Ty. Speak up if you're in Philly, Montco or Bucks Co. I might have some Ty questions and need local resources.

Good to hear from you NJ Tys. Let me know if you hear about any stock Tys for sale (looking for a driver, not a racer). I'm particularly interested in a Ty with 65k or less that is NOT black or white. Something mechanically sound and well maintained...I don't need a project car right now!

I live in West Chester, Pa. Yes they are far and few between around here. There is one in Thorndale, but he doesn't seem interested enough to get together and "talk shop". There is also another one in Reading, Pa, but I have not had a chance to catch up with him yet. Where in Pa. are you located?

I think I've talked to guy from Reading. Is it Teal?

I'm in Mont. county, near Ambler. As I mentioned, I've seen one Ty in the past year...and it was red/gray. I'm going to the car show in Hatboro tonight, so maybe there will be one there (?).

If anyone wants to get together,let's plan something,maybe in the middle of where we are all located,because I don't feel like putting a ton of miles on the Ty. :wink:

Andy, what have you run at the track with your setup? I have similar setup on my sy. TE-45.63 turbo, headers, atr exhaust, cool air, aux cooler, 9/11 converter, battery relocation, STG Ultimate, but stock downpipe :cry:

Hey Adam, not much going on here. I have been spending a lot of time rock crawling with my Jeep recently, and moving friends and family all over the freakin' place on the weekends. Yes, I am WAAY over-due for hanging out with some SYTY folks, thats for sure.

I have never had my truck to the track, but I raced a turbo Supra on Rt 100 about two months ago and beat him by a few car lengths. He claims his car runs mid to high 12's......

I need to pay the Ty some attention very soon. Gotta change the plugs with some UR-6's and install my vac hose kit, as well as pick up an Ultimate chip and Datamaster do some tuning with my laptop. I really like driving the truck and wanted to really get it dialed in, but went through a money dry-spell about 5 months ago and I am just now getting into "play" mode again.

I am into a meet and greet somewhere in southeastern Pa. Lets put something together for Sept-Oct time-frame.

And you and I have corresponded, maybe a year ago. You sent me a picture of your Ty in front of a big "Reading" sign. I think it had 73k on it at the time, right?

At any rate, if you're thinking about selling it to buy a Sy, talk to me FIRST! You know it would be going to a SY-TY-GN-TTA enthusiast.

I'll keep you posted.I'm not selling it to buy a Sy,I had a prostreet nova,and sold that,so maybe I'll buy a Sy too.If I sold the Ty,then I'd probably buy a vette,but I think I'm gonna keep the Ty. :wink:
