Glad to see both a Ty, and a GTR getting used well.
Driving home from work the other day (In my Ford Focus
), and a GTR merged onto the highway beside me. Beautiful car, sounded excellent as he merged into traffic. We then drove the next 12 miles at 45mph average or so, and he got off on the same exit I did....2 cars back. Shame to have all that HP wrapped up in what was at the time a commuter car.....I bet his Sunday afternoon drives are a little different than mine though!

The gtr 1/8 mile is 6.9, this is high 10 sec 1/4 mile. Its also in CO which probably nowhere near sea level. I would guess its modified.

yea, sometimes i have got it to launch with 8 lbs, but that day it refused to pull over 4. that would be the reason for shitty 60ft time, and as a result, slower et. working on gettin a 9/11.
elevation big time hogan, ran about 17psi that run, with 100% meth.
no ice at the track either to get the truck cooled down after the 50 mile drive, so that didnt help things. (it was hot yesterday, even tho we are back to bitchin cold today)

Dont feel to bad.
Years back, we went to a race day over in Brandenton FL. Really nice track.
Mid day, a pretty sweet car lines up with me with a pretty sweet driver too.
The outcome didnt put me crossing the beams first.

When you get to the line, throw it in neutral and rev the engine up a couple times, you'll feel the brake pedal go down a lil further (this will help you hold a lil more boost at the line), put it in 3rd or "D" and leave it there... No need to shift through the gears.
I've never raced in "mile high" conditions so I'm not sure what the sea level time conversion would be, but give that a shot... that should at least get you below a 2.2 60'.
Lastly, don't ever turn down a race against someone who's got a faster car than you. There's a good chance they haven't got a clue how to drive it and you'll win... and if you're lucky, you'll even get it on video to laugh at years later :tup:

no offence, but i know how to launch the truck, if you listen at 34 seconds im revving as i roll up on line, you dont have to be stopped to get more vaccumn on brakes, and out of five runs, this one was the best. it may make no difference, but i occasionally like to shift myself.
also some of my times were 4 and 5 sec r/t, since i was not concerned with the race, but making more boost (which it wouldnt), but my 5th and final run i went for r/t. been like 10 years since i actively drag raced, but i still pulled out a good r/t

white, had carbon hood. jacks transmission guy. they (jacks) had about 5 cars out there sunday. glh omni, vega, wrx, evo, gtr. the omni i see out on the streets all the time, pretty sure the vega guy also has a dsm thats pretty fast
