Re: Typhoon vs GTI VR6

My best friend has a 97 GTI VR6 with Autotech chip, resonator removed, intake, mildly ported head and CAT 263 cams. Should be at 180-185 to the wheels. I raced him from a roll in my Sy and it was always about dead even. I would initially pull from a slow roll to about half a car and then he would even out as soon as he gets goin. He figured he is low 14s at 98-99 maybe breaking into the 13s on a cold night. Those cars do run well because they are light. Good kill on your end. My friend won't race me from a stop either. He knows it will be ownage.

Re: Typhoon vs GTI VR6

I previously owned an 1993 VW Corrado SLC with the Vr6, 178 hp, best stock was 14.8 in the 1/4 mile at 95mph. My 1996 MKIII GTi Vr6 172hp, would run about 15 flat at 93mph, I never ran my 1999.5 GTi GLX, but the best I have seen online was 15.1's in the 1/4. To be honest I would never race any of those, they are quick, none of them are fast stock. Also why race from a roll, SyTy's were designed to demolish others off the line.

They are quick. My friend has a VW Corrado supercharge and it's fast. My cousin VR6 has chip, cold air intake, bigger exhaust, and K&N filter and may be some more. it runs pretty good. I do not like racing from a roll. it's that he did not want to race me from a stop. Its all good though
