Typhoon Question

I was wondering if there are any mods that can be made to a Typhoon, to make it safe to tow a small trailer like 600lbs total weight.
I have seen others tow with Ty's and destroy the motor.
Thanks 8)

I think Keith was looking at doing this. I don't know if he has done it or not - he wanted to tow a couple jet skis.

I think a cheaper alternative would be to buy a $500 beater at tow with that.

If you HAVE to use the Ty - get a trans cooler - a big 'un.

Towing light loads would not destroy the motor. I suspect other issues were going on. These motors have stronger main caps than their NA counterparts which tow all the time. Think about the stress of a full boosted launch accelerating to 100mph. Now that's stress. Think about towing 600 lbs and not using over 5lbs boost. I'll guarantee the stress is less. But like Dave said use a big tranny cooler which you need anyway towing or not. Keep the tranny and engine cool they'll be fine. The stock transfer case can take a lot of abuse judging by the power some people consistently put to them. Just be careful how much weight goes on the hitch.

Thanks for the info. If any one else has anything that might be helpful let me know. I was just looking to tow a jet ski with my TY. This only comes out a few times a season when I have time. 8)
