Anyone sell of make them? I found a thread the other day mentioning billet ones but couldn't find anything else about them. I need something cause the squeak is driving me crazy.

Like Quickstop mentioned the squeak is probably the latch. But if you actually need hinges just hit up a junkyard and pull them off of a Blazer,. Jimmy or Bravada. A yard will probably charge $5 or $10 for the hinges.

F-that put those hinges in your tool bag... Law of the junkyard anything you can fit in your bag or pockets is free... Especially if you pay to get in....IMO

Good way to get kicked out of the junkyards around here and charges pressed if the staff is actually paying attention. As for me, I wait for the staff to tell me I'm good if it's just odds and ends kind of stuff I'm grabbing. Not willing to take the chance of getting a free ride wearing the matching bracelets in the back seat of a black-and-white.

The staff typical are a bunch of monkeys who don't care especially getting paid minimum wage.... And if your there enough they don't care... If you know them them they don't care.... Your probably the one who doesn't close hoods and doors in the yard too. God are you the fun police... Merry Christmas ya filthy animal.

If you're going to chance getting caught stealing something make it worthwhile. Not a $5 part from an '89 Blazer. Go steal iPhones or something substantial to make your parents proud.

I took a piece of vacuum hose and cut a slit it in down the middle and put that on the latch. I took two small zip ties and put one on both edges. Did the same for the tailgate posts. The hinges do have quite a bit of play in them, and it's driving me insane!

Nope, not the fun police...I just think along the lines of what Typhoon#747 said. If I'm gonna get hemmed up for stealing something, it ain't gonna be over some little BS parts. Just my :2cents: on the whole issue. Not trying to preach, just seems silly to me to risk getting charged with theft over something so trivial, is all.

What I've found out they don't care about knick knack stuff...mostly large parts... Engines, mirrors, trans, cv axles, etc.

Is anyone else interested in having someone make us some of these hinges? For $100 plus shipping, Id really like to have a nice set instead of OE replacement. Enough interest and someone might just make them.

I've thought about recreating these hinges (two of my trucks have damaged hinges). After guestimating what it would take to make these....$100 isn't bad for the brand new OEM parts, and I bet good used ones would be MUCH less than $100.

Unless you are looking for a custom part, different from the original,I think you are better off buying the GM parts:2cents:
