anyone know how to make your own side claddings?

- Purchase a flat mockup plate
- Place truck on plate
- Buy a lot of clay
- Form clay into desired shape
- Digitize shape using lazer
- Input digitized shape into computer
- Open a CAM software package
- Program a CNC mill to cut desired shape out of 55 Min HRC metal, taking into consideration things such as risers, etc. for proper injection molding.
- Cut metal mold on CNC Mill
- Install guides, etc in mold, and prepare for injection.
- Install mold on Injection Molding machine
- Inject plastic into mold
- Take part out, digitize with lazer and compare to original.
- Realize you forgot to take into account shrinkage of plastic.
Open a CAM software package
Program a CNC mill to cut desired shape out of 55 Min HRC metal, taking into consideration things such as risers, etc. for proper injection molding.
Cut metal mold on CNC Mill
Install guides, etc in mold, and prepare for injection.
Install mold on Injection Molding machine
- Inject plastic into mold
- Verify new mold is correct
- Sit back and enjoy a new piece of cladding every few seconds.
- Repeat steps above for each piece of desired cladding you want to make.
