from what I have read in the past, its pretty expensive to get them repaired, hence why the guy is probably selling it on eBay in the first place.

I use Specmo to calibrate odometers for warranty repairs. One day turnaround on those, and decent price. Never used them for radio repairs, but they are very easy to deal with.

there is a place by me i haved used several times for customers radios ,its called united radio in syracuse ny they are excellent,but for what they or some might charge you might be better off buying another one

OEM Ty CD player that the radio works just doesn't play CDs.
I was wondering if while I was getting the CD player repaired if it was possible to add a set of RCA preouts.
It'd be nice to use an oem head unit to feed a nice 5 channel amp or something that wasn;t speaker level inputs.
Anyone ever heard of being able to add preouts?

I have the exact same thought, and I think this is how I'll do it. You can get this from Crutchfield for $30 and it converts up to 30W speaker outputs to RCA; 20-20khz. I'm going to end up with 4" components on my dash, 5.25" components in the kick panels and either 6.5" components or a 6x9 mid-bass in the back. I don't want subs for the room they take up. I can tie one of these to the rear speakers, but for the front, I'd have to split the front speaker outputs, run two of these, and have one for the 4" and one of the 5.25", then control the volume / fade of each using the preamp adjustment on the amp, or the dials on this unit. I think it'd work slick.Loeryder said:
