1993 TY 0722
I have been debating on this TY for a while...I sought help on this board (LINK) and had great help, so THANK YOU ALL for your input.
I worked with the seller to a price we could both agree on that was well below the original asking price. She has some problems, but that will be fixed up in a couple of weeks when I'm ready to hand over the keys to a trusted friend who is well versed in GN's and turbo vehicles.
Now, this may sound immature, but do you guys name your cars?
I'm restoring a 67 Camaro that I've had since I was 17, and from the first time I hooked it the name "Beast" just stuck.
I have a 63 C10 that sounds like a Corsair F4U (WWII plane that used a Pratt-Whitney engine) so her name is Whitney.
They all seem to name themselves, and this TY is no different.
Introducing Thunder.
When I was getting on the highway to come back home with her, 97.1 was fading in and out (I was about 70 miles north of Dallas) and when it came in clear all I heard was...
(fuzz, static). . ."You've been . . . .THUNDRSTRUCK" (fuzz, static)
I laughed and said out-loud, "Well, if that's what you want to be called, prove it to me." I'll be damned if I didn't change the channel only to hear White Zombie's Thunderkiss 1965.
So, here is Thunder:
Plans:
A little more power
:turbo:
dial in the suspension
Disc all the way around
New wheels
a new head unit, new speakers (stockers are blown), small amp and a small sub in the back.
After that, she will be my daily driver...I've been smiling EAR TO F'N EAR since I got her about 7 hours ago!
