The Best of Both Worlds
There's a lot to this story, but I'm going to keep it as brief as possible...
I relocated the battery to the back of the Ty about a month ago. All was well for a couple weeks. Then, about two weeks ago, the right turn signal indicator came on, but the signal itself stopped working. After a bit, everything went back to normal. It happened one more time that day and then went back to normal. I kind of forgot about it, so fast forward to a couple days ago, and it happened again. This time though, it seems more permanent. The left signal and the hazards function normally. I used all new, heavy gauge wiring for the battery relocation, except for the engine ground. For that, I used the stock negative battery cable. New alternator power wire to the the starter, then to the battery. Good negative battery ground to the chassis in the rear. As soon as it was done, I checked voltage at the battery, with and without accessories on... Steady 14.5v. Because of that, I didn't feel the need to add a ground at the transmission like I've heard some do. Also, I didn't reattach the abs power wire or the small ground that comes off the negative battery post to the body, near the passenger side headlight assembly. I've had led bulbs in for some time, along with an led specific turn signal flasher, which have worked flawlessly. Other than a brief look at a SyTy wiring diagram, I haven't looked into it further.
I'm off to work, but any help in the meantime is greatly appreciated.
