Turbo selection help please. T56 second gen

Hey guys, not a Sy owner, but Sy admirer.

Ive got a second gen blazer, powerdyne boosted 4.3, marine intake swap, T56. Ive got the urge for more powah, and I see the syty turbo setup as giving me some flexibility and room to grow. I know I don't have boosted launches or crazy launch traction with the RWD/manual combo, but I really enjoy rowing the gears so it's a tradeoff that I'm willing to make.


I've been digging around the forums here looking for examples of manual turbo trucks and don't see many. I'm looking for advice from anyone willing on what turbo you'd install on the above hardware. I'm targeting around 350hp after seeing many with stock blocks holding in at that level.

Smaller turbos than what most are running here. Since your power goal is modest, a smaller turbo will meet that.

A GT28r will support your power level, and will spool like crazy on this motor.

Ball-bearing TE-44 with a .63 exhaust housing wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Any other thoughts? Is 350hp too low for everyone to bother with? Hah.

There are people with stock turbos on here pushing that much, but with a ton more torque. Some simple stock syty parts and a few upgrades and you should be able to meet your goal for a reasonable price. Just look in the used section for parts and get on your way. if you dont see what you need for sale, put up a want ad. easy. make a project thread too if you can.
