I have the TT small block and its carbed, works great tuning is sometimes a pain you actually have to get dirty to richen it up,
pros are its cheap, easy to tune, when your in boost its just like EFi you can get a perfect A/F. at 7 psi mine is 11.5
cons are I hate starting it, it floods easy, has no choke, you have to drill jets to get the tune you need, off boost MPG SUCKS my AF is 10.1 when driving around,
if I never opened the hood and jsut drove around(if I didnt flood it) you would think that it was FI it idles great doesnt stutter off the line works really well and all for less than you can buy the GEN 7 for. to go FI you need an intake, TB, injectors, sensors, EFI program. mine will be FI soon but probably with the other motor.
as far as chopping it up who cares its yours.
Josh
oh yeah def buy a wideband for tuning with the carb makes life easy
as far as turbos you dont need anything huge I had 60-1's with .96 A/R on the exhaust side and got 8 psi by 2500 RPM and made 820 HP at 12 psi of boost good enough for 9.53 in denver
