Anyone have any luck running A turbo 350 in there syty? Think it will hold driving around town & taking it to the track every once in Awhile? IM guessing the truck is close to 500-600 hp.

Re: Turbo 350 ???

Chad a fully built one in the TTV8 sy and it held up to 9 & 10 sec passes, but I believe he did say a 400 would have been better. And according to rumor, he put a fully built 80e in it.

If you're gonna do a TH350, spend the little extra coin and do the TH400 and forget about it.

Re: Turbo 350 ???

TH350 is a good transmission. Advance adapters makes the swap kit which is a new tailshaft and a aluminum spacer that makes up the legnth difference to mount everything as stock (summit sells the kit for $150.00). I have used TH350's in low 10 second cars. The weakest link is usually going to be the bellhousing/case. I had one in my 383 450hp AWD S10 with no problems. However, I changed back to the 700r4 for better gas mileage.

I believe Th350's require NO modification of your driveshafts. I know a local to me had one in his Sy and had no problems with it. he did pop his motor buit thats another story. IIRC it had a 72mm in it, at least a 67mm.

i think it;s syty performance sells a built th350 for ty/sy use. no driveshaft modifications needed. swap in a set of 3.08 gears if you drive on the highway.

Re: Turbo 350 ???

Just think A 400 will hold up longer then A 350 will. Did not build it for gas mileage.
