Re: TTTyphoon

Thanks they did a nice job when all said and done, just need to test them and check them over very well to make sure they are safe. And saftey is the biggest key of the build for my self and passengers as well as others on the road around me.

so did you put the 4 x4 frame under this truck ??

yup off a 94 s10, front suspension was all 88 blazer stuff and so on.. It was and is a Johnny Cash special. Also added the 98 and up clip and also threw the xtreme kit on there. I like factory kits what can I say. That is why I bought this for my daily too. Horrible picture but I do not take pics of the daily much. It is an 06 cobalt ss

Any chances the control arms will be replicated? What size spring are you running?

running 650 springs that were purchased at turbotime. and the arms still need alittle tweaking to be made perfect then yeah we plan to make a few sets availible.

But kinda a lame update but oh well, all the cladding is on..looks sweet. brakes are finished up, suspension front diff and all are in, just need to tighten a few things down and get it out of here.

sorry no pictures camera is in fargo. But will have some later

Re: TTTyphoon

Is that your temp steering shaft that was binding on you? That angle doesn't look very severe at all in the pic.

Also, is there a reason that you mounted the sway bar above the control arm and not below? I know that different angles on the sway bars produce different results but I'm not familiar with any of the specifics.

Looking good..

Nope not anymore, it still is the temp shaft but re adjusted where the u-joint sat on the rack and fixed it. The sway bar is aboves since that is how it is stock with the second gens. and with how low the truck is it keeps the sway bar level with the arms and not drag coming in and out of driveways and so on.

Thanks it looks sweet now sorry for no pictures they will be up later.

Re: TTTyphoon

Yeah I realize that now.. but yeah since the truck is lowered this keeps the geometry of the sway bar in check other wise there the endlinks would be at extreme angles. And will do, can't wait to start driving it.

Are you going to tuck the rear wheels in some?

Yup, these are just my friends zr1's, the custom wheels will have the fronts and rears even with the cladding. And thanks kinda cool to see it as a truck again.

Its look like you used a wider than stock rear end. I put on my ZR-1 wheels on a Ty and they didn't stick out nearly that much.

The rear end is out of a 70 chevelle and is 1" inch wider per side. We mocked up the wheels on the other ty and they sit perfect on there. But custom wheels take care of the offset problem and they will sit flush.

Re: TTTyphoon

you should paint the top of the bezel of your taillights gray so they don't break up the lines like they do. I'd maybe even put some VHT nightshades on the taillights to make them a little darker (not blacked out, but kind of a black cherry look). Truck looks killer by the way.

Yup I have another set being tinted now, Just threw a set in to fill the hole up. I think I will look into keeping them alittle more red for the black cherry look. Great idea

and thanks glad you like helps keep me motivated to work on it. ;)
