I may have missed it but what year truck did the front diff come out of? Also, is that just a G-body 12 bolt?

Nice work btw, looks great!

Front differential is out of a 94 silverado and the 12 bolt is out of a 70 chevelle... A-body.

And thanks

Re: TTTyphoon

Alrighty picture intesense update. We got a lot of bracing done today and a couple parts added.

On with the pictures.
Axle mounts gusseted

Upper passenger side diff mount
Picture013.jpg
[/IMG]
Lower driver side front diff mount modified for new diff.
Picture012.jpg
[/IMG]
Passenger side steering rack mount
Picture010.jpg
[/IMG]
Rear shock mount bar mount braced. It looks a little funny I think since the frame right behind that has the flare upward in it.
Picture019.jpg
[/IMG]
Rear frame boxed
Picture021.jpg
[/IMG]
Upper rear link bar mount with new gussets
Picture020.jpg
[/IMG]
More bracing in place.
Picture026.jpg
[/IMG]
Sway bar installed
Picture016.jpg
[/IMG]
Picture017.jpg
[/IMG]

Also threw the mock up motor in to check clearances but the truck 5.3 pan hit the front diff on the driverside so it is holding it up a bit.

Picture023.jpg

And we like to make sure everything is in correctly so 3 people on everything :rotf: . There was no room for me so I took a picture.

Re: TTTyphoon

Well I have been lazy about the update from this weekend my xtreme was rear-ended and so I have had my mind else where.

Anyway we got the bottom welding done and flipped the frame back over.
Mike made the motor mount plates they look great. Trimmed the notches and added gussets. Started to repaired the body mounts. Also the frame is completely boxed now.
Anyway on with the pictures.

Motor mounts

Front shock mount bracing- this is in addition to fully welding the stock mount in.

Front diff from the bottom

Frame boxed cut down a 3in angle and fit it above the old front leaf spring mount.

Frame flipped over

Also above the notches there are two pieces of 3/8" metal so it is stronger then ever.

Enjoy

i really love this project. but are you sure about the seats?

Yup just wait until they are done. The one thing is I was considering keeping the 92 style seats but being 6'4" the padded area (headrest) hits me in the shoulders making uncofortable to drive for a long time.

And thanks for the good words hopefully find my pictures this evening to show what else has been happening,

Syclone seats and 92 ty seats are the same base frame. These seats give a roomier feeling as well as an adjustable headrest which is for safety sake. These seats are also undergoing a little reshaping to keep with the 92 theme. But I normally am more partial to the fatman seats since they were in my first truck which was a 92 blazer Lt that I still refuse to ever get rid of.

And my sister finished up the first rendering. Turned out great.

If that had regular Ty mirrors and didn't have the blue graphics I'd be all over it.. I like the fade from black to gray and the wider rims.

I am undecided on the mirrors still. I like the ty mirrors but the street scene mirrors look good as well. Also I am having a set of stockers painted too so if I wan I can change them to my hearts desire. And the blue graphic is for the showy look but not to overdone IMO. But yeah glad you like it and my sister finished up the front view as well to get the idea of how that looks. This was her first time using Photoshop for the whole thing. The rendering above was drawn out and the added the window effect once it was scanned.

Re: TTTyphoon

Well the floor has been finished up. Started off by flap disking down the floor, then 2 coats of POR 15 just to protect from rust. Then added 2 coats of a sound deadening rubberized material from 3m.

And there is the floor, hope to finish the final chassis assembly here in the next couple weeks and get the body on for the final time.
