I was talking to one of my parents friends about my truck, and he told me about a police chase he saw on the news in the mid-late 90's about some bank robbers who stole a safe with a Typhoon from a bank in Manhattan Beach and were running from the police. They eventually stepped on the brakes too hard before a turn and the safe flew forward and crushed them and pretty much destroyed the TY from taking high speed turns with a heavy safe in the back.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Any one else heard of interesting SYTY stories, but not sure if they are true or not?

I remember that too. The re-creation on tv showed the vehicle as a Jeep Cherokee but at the end they showed the actual photos of the wrecked Typhoon.

I know a syclone from the virginia area went swimming circa late 90's. I cant remember if it was virginia beach or ocean city, but, long story short, the syclone ended up in the ocean. Im almost positive the guy ended up with the syclone essentially flying of the end of a dock into the ocean.

It really makes you wonder how many Sy/Tys are left after stupid BS like this, fires, theft, etc. Does anybody else feel like the Sy/Tys were just cursed to begin with?
