Truck Stalling

Having some issues with my truck lately, summary of problems:

It will stall on highway / driving, acts like running out of fuel.
At first I thought maybe there was something wrong with the fuel pump, so i took bed off, checked pump, replaced fuel filter, filter on bottom of pump, new hoses inside tank, clamps, etc. Put it back together and it seemed ok for the first 20 miles, then today I drove it into town and it stalled on me, so i put in some gas (filled it up) and it was still causing stalling, intermittently. It feels like its running out of gas, and i'm not sure if the pump is shutting down completely or if its just not making enough pressure, but I made it back home, bearly, and played with it, it sounds like the pump is wining a lot, sometimes, and then sometimes its quiet.??? So i'm thinking a bad pump, truck has some weird hotwire kit installed, but using stock wiring (I think) so I was thinking maybe a new pump and new hotwire harness?

Wanted to see if anyone had thoughts, before I do the tank... again.

Need to make the 100+ mile journey to the Nats! :)

Re: Truck Stalling

FP would be nice to know when its acting up. Sometimes a loud pump is signs of it going out. Also a good tank ground has a lot to do with burnt out pumps just as much as a good power feed( hotwire kit) does also. I would make sure your grounds are clean coming off the pump harness. Did you check to see if your pump is OEM or a Walbro 255 type when you pulled it out before?

Re: Truck Stalling

Just replaced my pump because of the same thing. Would make crazy sounds intermittent, regardless of fuel level. Order the Racetronix kit with hot-wire harness and Walbro pump. Best money I've spent so far. Its quality and reliable. My truck seems to run much better now also.

Re: Truck Stalling

I cleaned everything when I had the tank out, including grounds. It is a walbro pump, i took it out and tested it and everything when it was out.

I'm going to order a pump anyway just to be safe, and clean grounds, check cables again!

By the time I got back to my house to hook up the FP gauge, it was already acting fine, its weird, only maybe 2% of the time does it act up, of course in traffic, and 104 degree heat!

Re: Truck Stalling

Replaced with a racetronix kit, along with body grounds, hotwire etc and no problems yet!

Now on to the next problems.
