Enforcing traffic laws
ok i just did an engine rebuild on my ty and everything is going good, but today when i wnet to change the oil at 500 miles i noticed a hose hanging from the trans. it comes from the tail shaft of the trans and runs up on top of the trans and is tied up to another hose of some sort. does anyone know where this hose goes? i dont know if i disconected it when i pulled the motor or what. it does have a bracket attached to it also.

thanks in advance

and i know this should be in the transmission section but it will get more views here, so please dont move it for awhile

my geuss is that you are tlking about the breather hose, coming from the transfercase.

this hose isn''t tied up to another hose, there just is a bearther (valve) on the end of that one.

it doesn''t mather where you put it, as long as it isn''t burned or damaged by annything..

there is a breather atop the tranny case:

and one on the transfer case:
(tough to see...but towards the right in the pic, makes a sharp angle turn. follow the stripe of tranny fluid and your eye will go to it)

i never finished putting it back together 100%. Its sleeping in a barn right now for the winter so i don't have to look at it and be reminded of my slacking.

Here is a pic before she went to hibernate though. Appears to be together at least. It moves on its own :)

yes and no. I'm slow and don't devote much time to it. I had some transmission issues - i removed and reinstalled it about 5 or 6 times, swapped valve bodies, broke a tranny pump, changed governors....blah blah blah.

I lost interest in it for a while after spending too much time on it, and then i bought my car and that made me somewhat forget about the ty. There isn't much left to do to it really, i just don't give any effort to the cause.
