transmission/transfer case question

my aunt bought a 94 blazer a couple years ago at an auto auction for seized cars. when we got it home and opened the hood, i saw words that made me smile. syclone 4.3 turbo.

but over the last few months, her transmission has been acting up horribly. one thing i noticed is that it's only rwd, not awd. did the syclone have a different transfer case and whatnot? i have another 700r4 tranny at my house, but i dont know what to do.

Are you saying there is no transfer case in it?
No propshaft in it?
If everything is there and it only has rear wheel drive, then there is something wrong in the transfer case (viscous or chain) or the front diff has something wrong with it.
There was a really good post on here but it kicks "searches" ass. Can't find it. It goes into getting it into the air, rotating tires, everything to help troubleshooting the drivetrain. Hopefully someone else can chime in on the trouble shooting.

'94...should be a 4L60e, if I'm not mistaken. Transfer case (stock) should be a NP231, unless the Sy unit was swapped in. I wonder if the front axles were swapped out for the correct ones as well.
