transmission shift kit??

I'm looking for some information on shift kits for my transmission. The
trans was rebuilt before I purchased it and it had all the 4L60 components installed, it shifts good, But not as hard as I would like. In my
opinion the harder the shift the better.... Has anyone run into any
problems, like viscous clutch burn up, or prop shaft, or half shaft concern
because they tried to make the transmission shift to hard?? Any
advised on which is the best kit for me to get the hardest shift possible.

Trans go has the best shift kit. i have one they cost 125 i think. I ilie it alot. in the mornings when it is could the tranny shifts harder and the transfer case jerks but i was told by 3 tranny shops in town that it was ok. I have had it for a year with out any problems and at least 35 races if not more.

Making the tranny shift hard will not burn up clutches.. provided the tranny is beefed up correctly. A shift kit will beef up the shifts and is better on the clutches.

The big thing you have to be careful of is that the shift doesn't happen TOO fast. Nothing wrong with it being hard. If the timing of the shift(clutch release, gear change, clutch engage) is too fast, you will "bind up". In other words, two sets of clutches/band will engage and gears will attempt to spin when they shouldn't. Strips stuff out. Usually happens if you open up feed holes too large.
Another really common thing that can happen if you open up the 3rd feed orifice too big in an attempt to have a quicker shift change is that the 2-4 band can get pushed off the reverse input drum before the 3rd clutches engage. Known as a 2-3 flare. RPM's shoot way up with no resistance then BAM. Not good. Use a 3rd orfice checkvalve assembly if you do it. Just to be safe.
If you follow the instructions in the Transgo shift kit, you'll be fine. Remember. They designed the kit. If you go and follow a buddy's advise and vere from the instructions in an attempt for "more performance", you may very well do damage. If you have any questions, call them.
