Do transfer cases rotate in opposite direction when the 'mission is in R (reverse)??

Basically it is a extension of a transmission with a "splitter" so another driveshaft or propshaft is attached so you can have all wheel drive, or 4x4. So what ever the transmission was doing in rotation, the transfer case would also.
