Transfer Case removal

Ive searched and searched with nothing but a george blake how to remove the tranny.

Ive got the tans crossmember off ive unbolted all of the brackets and took out the 5 bolts (thats all i can find) that hold the transfer case to the transmission. Nothing will move, not even a little bit.

So my question. Did i miss something? Or do I really just have to give it hell to get it off?

5 bolts, bracket, cable, hose, crossmember. All done - then give her hell

You say 5 bolts between the trans and the t-case. That's all there is. The bottom one can't be accessed unless you remove the trans mount, so I assume you did.

There's the brace above the propshaft on the LH side, the fuel line bracket, VSS wire, vent hose, and drive shafts. That's all there is.

Be sure you don't have the trans jacked up too high, and the T-case is contacting the floor. Maybe that's why it won't budge. I go until the tail shaft is about 3/4" above the cross-member. If you go too high, the case contacts the brace on the floor, and won't slide back further.

Double-check on the five bolts out, that there's nothing else, it's not up against the floor, and pop it loose with a pry bar. Be prepared for a slug of ATF to be released. That should do it.

give it some wiggles, probally froze to the tranny. make sure you have the long sopport tube removed.. connects to bracket on top of transfer case.
