Transfer case CHAIN problems? ---

I think my front transfer case is about to take a shit.

I get minor shaking on the highway (50-60mph... not suspension/engine shaking, but drivetrain shaking) , and a slapping sound from under the truck from around 10-30mph (like a loose chain slapping something) now and then.

The AWD is still working ( spins all 4 in the snow ) . Could I be missing a few teeth somewhere in the case? Could the chain be stretched out?

I have 69k miles. Does this just need a rebuild? My propshaft and everything else checks out ok , its not a u-joint or anything. I have just never had to deal with anything with a t-case before, so its all new to me.

see my post that I put up a few weeks ago,just make sure the vc is good,and put a chain in it.make sure you clean it up very good!!!very easy job

you better hope its not your rear transfer case. Those are really hard to replace.
