Trans won't downshift on acceleration

I bought my truck back in November and noticed after getting to drive it around for a few days that the transmission doesn't downshift on medium to hard acceleration. I've adjusted the TV cable, tested all I know to test, and even dropped the pan to check the valve body. Is there something I could have over looked? I've got all the factory Typhoon, S15/T15 manuals for the truck. I'm thinking that the TV cable is stretched but can't find any specs on what the length should be.

And YES I've looked through the DRIVETRAIN forum to find info on my problem, but I could have overlooked a thread or two.

Any input is helpful. And does anyone have a TV cable they would sell me that may have done a 4L80 swap.

Mine does this some too...usually when trying to come out of 4th gear when I punch it on the interstate. Never really looked into it though. Wouldn't mind knowing an answer if someone has one, other than I need a new trans...already though of that.

Yes I"ve adjusted it. I can shorten it alot, or adjust it correctly. And is still seems as thought its not hooked up at all.

You don't want the trans to downshift automatically. It's very hard internally. Do it with the shifter at part throttle if you want a diff gear.

Try tapping the gas to the floor once, immediately before you floor it again to pass. It should basically tell the trans "im about to command a downshift" instead of leaving u at the bottom of fourth, for example, with no torque, so you barely pick up speed.

This is the fourth time I've written this reply. Each time, it doesn't go thru, and I lose what I just typed. So its now much shorter than the original post lol
