Re: Trans Cooler ????
I know Ed Hess has done it using 2 of those tranny coolers with fans, but his application and truck are quite unique.
Its my understanding, than using an Air to Liquid cooler (aka tranny cooler) alone, is not efficient enough to remove the necessary amount of heat to keep the transmission cool, especially under hard driving applications (racing, stalling, boost launches, ect).
The Liquid to Liquid cooler within the radiator is more efficient when it comes to removing a majority of the heat from the transmission fluid and then by adding an external cooler you can further drop those temps.
I personally run the B&M 28000 cooler in my truck after the radiator and my temps are very cold, almost too cold, especially in the winter.
I wouldnt run just an external cooler alone, but thats just my opinion, im sure others will chime in with theirs as well.
