Guys,
I have gone back w the old Alum line feeding the Radiator cooler. However, the return line had a hole in it - so I guess that explains why I was throwing Trans Oil all over the place. Watch those stock lines - that Aluminum is kinda soft and any rubbing can easily cause a hole. So I put in a #6 AN line for the return line.
I have installed one of those serpentine type of Aux Trans Coolers, and it has barbed hose connections, unfortunately. So I will go from the Rad cooler to the bottom of the Aux cooler with flexible line. Then the AN return line will connect to the top Aux barbed connection. I've gotta fit my Trans Temp block in there somewhere also.
We had a discussion a few weeks ago about what type of flex line to use. Some say that the standard Fuel Injector hose may flake off w time and screw things up. Others mentioned Teflon line, but I'm not sure where to get that. Meanwhile I asked O'Reillys' about "AT" line and they have some special line w a fabric cover (not smooth) so that they are ordering for me. I asked NAPA about some hose for AT coolers, and they gave me some expensive 5/16" black line made by Weatherhead (H10105) that says it has a Max working pressure of 350 Psig.
Anybody else got any other ideas ?
