Re: tranny temperature gauge not working

Did you use pipe sealer / teflon tape on the sender? If you did you'll need to run an independent ground circuit. Even if you didn't, make sure the filter mount is well grounded or the gauge won't work.

thats what i was thinking, the teffelon tape or bad ground.. thanks of the tip. will look into it ..
If its the tape couse the prolem, how do i attach a ground to it

make sure you have everything hooked up in the proper order. If it isn't and your needle won't move you may be starving the tranny of fluid

They are intended to be installed without any tape so that they ground to whatever they're mounted in. What most people do when they run teflon tape is just get a big ring terminal (I think it was like 3/8") and a washer or two and sandwich it between the mount point and the body of the sender. Then put a wire to it and ground. You can see the terminal sticking off my sender here (on the blue temp manifold)

I didn't think coolers and filters were one way flow? wouldn't he have a mess of trans fluid everywhere if the circuit wasn't complete?

pretty sure that the permacool filter mount is unidirectional. Read the instrux w/ it...it'll prolly say to ensure proper routing or damage can/will occur.

Mike is right about the flow direction, I made sure the use the diagrams that we have in the vault. I do use the great search that we have.

J. Thanks for the tip with ring terminal, I will let you guys know if it work

Re: tranny temperature gauge not working

Its working and working well, the temps stay around 170ish and with a hard launch go up to 200ish . i turn on the fan and it drops to 160 real quick. thanks for the help with the ground issue.
