torque convertor rebuild?

My convertor unlocks really easy going down the highway. (very light on the gas pedal). Is it time for a rebuild.Don't know who built it but its a 9-11 with a 3200 stall.Would you trust the local shop to do it or would you send it back to the maker, whoever that is? Any ideas on the builder? I dont know about any markings on the convertor.(haven't looked yet)

I believe that TCS makes the 9-11

What does TCS stand for? Do they mark there convertors with any stampings.Would you send it to the manufacture for rebuild?

I'd check the brake switch adjustment first before going after a converter.
A bad TCC clutch in a converter will "chatter".

Could also be bad TCC programming, if you have an aftermarket chip.

Here is their link. Personally I would send it back to them since they made it. Probably be cheaper for them to look at it and freshen it up verses someone else rebuilding it.

Hey Dig the convertor still locks up, just doen't take much to unlock it in OD.Now i'm running a FAST c-com computer with no convertor control and was using a B&M lock up controller but didn't like it(immediatly locks up once it shifts to second gear).I was gonna install a switch to ground the aldl pins instead.Thank you for guys for your responses, keep em coming!I will look up there website to see if they made my 9-11:tup:

I don't think your locking issue has anything to do with the converter. I believe you are having issues with whatever you are using to control it.
the B&M I use has a MPH knob so you simply set it for whatever speed you want, it's got nothing to do with what gear your in.

if you set it too low or set it to lock all the time, it will lock up in 2nd every time.

the convertor locks up just fine. my concern with it is when traveling down the highway(in OD with convertor locked up) it unlocks really easy.I have to be light on the gas pedal to stay locked up
