Does anybody know how many FT Lbs and torque pattern for heads!!

are you running studs? (just curious) what kind of HG's are you going to use? 75 should be ok, but don't 'dry' torque them and use a suitable thread sealant for the bolt threads(not white teflon type)...also try to get some arp moly lube for the bolt heads and or washers...also don'r run any antifreeze until all heat cycles and retorquing is done...just the good water...don't ask me why i know this...one more thing, you should retorque the heads after a couple or few heat cycles...torque pattern? i don't know but i'm sure it's on this site somewhere...

gm's reason for not doing it is probably a cost thing as well as the fact that their cars are sold in a stock form....i think it serves as an added precaution as demanding as we are of these little motors...most racing peeps certainly do it so it can't hurt...cometic told me over the phone that no retorque was necessary, and arp recommends the stretch method...if the stretch method cannot be used, they say to torque and retorque each fastener 5 times when installing heads because each time the nut or bolt is tightened and loosened, the friction factor gets smaller... the 5 times is when using their moly lube...that should yeild you more accurate torques....i'm going to retorque if my studs don't leak this time around...i'll just leave the fenders off if i can when i heat cycle it....
