Tool Check

Just want to make sure I have all the right tools to change my shocks and add a sway bar tomorrow. It's supposed to be sunny and 76 so it'll be a good day to work on the ty. What tools do I need to change the socks and add the sway bar? anything...odd?

Re: Tool Check

Everything *should* be pretty straight forward. Depending on how deteriorated the bushing are on your rear shocks, they may require some "persuasion" with a torch or cut off wheel. The steel sleeve inside the bushing that slides over the leaf spring perch is known to get frozen on there from time to time. If you don't remove the old one, you will NOT be able to install the new shock. It MUST be removed.

I apologize in advance if you are aware of this but I will say it anyways: if you are going to install those lowering blocks while you are messing with the shocks, DO NOT support the truck by the rear end when you remove the U-bolts! The result will be smashed cladding at best and you getting injured at worst!!! Support the truck under the frame with jack stands and be sure to disconnect the leveling dealio. Write up on it here Dang, Sunny and 76 degrees out, I wish

Re: Tool Check

and one more question...which way is the top supposed to be angled? there is room between the place where the bolts go and the metal...
