Today I wish my truck wasn't so rare...

Going through a lot of grief trying to replace the seat belts. I might be able to get them from a dealer down in SC. There are only 8 left according to GM parts locator. They are going to cost $$$ though.

Are the typhoon belts in the front passenger and driver's side the same as a syclone?

Dealer doesn't have syclone passenger side, but do have typhoon.

I checked junkyards and they don't have anything from s10, it's slightly different too.

Anyone have aftermarket belts? I'd like to see pics of them in a syclone or typhoon and how it looks before I decide on what direction to go. I could get two aftermarket belts for the price of one stock belt.

I'm 99.9% sure that the blazer belts are the same.. I can check tonight... What specifically have you been told is different?

I just think the assembly is slightly different for a ty. I'm not sure though, never noticed. I just need a picture to rule it out.

Syclone and Typhoon ARE different.

I think I sold my set to Loeryder.

I'd be very surprized if they are different from an s-10/blazer

Perhaps they used a larger truck latch or something?

Nope you sold them out from under me.
And I REALLY wanted them too...

I believe the Sy belt integrates into the rear cab trim, and the Ty belt integrates into the upright trim behind the front seat.
they are not interchangable; Sy to Ty.

When I was trying to buy mine all the dealers wanted my VIN to verfiy the belts were 100% correct.
They would not just sell me a 92 Jimmy seat belt for bucket seats.
Being a safety item there must be some liability to replacing them.

I agree that Typhoon seat belts are different from Syclone belts... However I think that ty belts are the same as a S10 blazer/jimmy of the same year...

You are 100% correct

Just curious - how do they cost from the dealer ?
