I really like the look of my triple chrome plated upper intake. It's maintenance free - just spray on and wipe off. So far no peeling/flaking after six years of service:

richard,

did u have it smoothed before getting it chromed? or did the chrome fill in all the casting marks? what do u have done to you lower intake?

I'm going with a mirror black powder coat on my lower and a ultimate chrome powder on my upper and IC

I don't have any pictures of the upper done in UC but my pulleys are already coated in that color

BTW, I'm doing all the coating myself with a Harbor Freight gun and a $40 oven

Thats kinda the color I am looking at. Looks good! Let me know if you get a pic of the finished product. Very nice:tup:

My upper intake was polished smooth prior to chroming. My lower intake is powder coated gloss black.

Good job with the chrome! I could never get chrome to turn out with the HF gun. I kept getting black dots from the voltage of the gun being too high and not adjustable.

I got the same results on my practice runs on scrap. I turned down the air pressure a bit and just fogged everything. It takes a few seconds longer but it eliminated the problem :tup:
