hate to hijack the thread (guess I already have =0) but I was just curious, seems like I'm about on the right track then with what I'm doing, I got my main studs in a coupla days ago, I wish my intercooler would get here. I'm so far off far as parts goes it's not funny, but I'm making headway so I can't complain. Just gotta get what I can when I've got the green to do it. I'm really curious to see what my propane injection setup's gonna do on this thing quite honestly. injecting -40F liquid into the intake should have an interesting result. I'm looking at using a Nitrous fogger with the liquid propane since I can change out the jet sizes easily enough, I've just gotta figure out a few more things on this one. Should hopefully give me enough flow to negate the need for giant injectors, on which the market's silly with on my book. It's like you buy a set of 390 CC injectors or a set of 450 CC injectors, the damn things are pretty much the same except the hole(s) are bigger. grumble. I just need to figure out how to bore injectors out to 80#/hour and make my fortune =)

hope you're asking them what the hell is wrong, I'd be screaming at them or at the very least calling an attorney. If you havn't all ready be sure to ask them if they shipped your motor off for the core yet, that way you've still got a good block to play with. [/u]

Naw this truck has gone thru 2 or 3 hands so who knows when the motor was installed. The owner bought the truck with a new motor in mind from the beginning. We have a fully build motor sitting in the garage ready to get dropped it and run some 10's 8)

Rick bought the Sy from my wife, through me. She was the fourth owner. I had fully disclosed to Rick everything we knew about the truck. I also included all receipts for the truck, both the ones we were given and the ones from while we had it. We had absolutely no idea the motor had been replaced -- there were no receipts and no disclosure from the previous owner (who also probably did not know - I met him several years before we bought the truck, and don't think he would lie about that). As far as I knew, it still had the original motor.

Also, I don't know what happened to the turbo, but it was not like that when it was picked up at my house.

Rick,
If you're reading this, I am really sorry about this. If there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.

yah, rather stupid of me for even mentioning it quite frankly, afterall I doubt anyone around here would be crazy enough to get a GM motor after the horror stories that have been going around about em. more then kinda like the ones I've heard about Jasper remanned engines.

Bill, no worries.
When I bought the truck I knew the engine wasn't up to par and already had the plan for a new engine shaping up even before we concluded the sale.

Bill was very forthcoming and open with any problems and his reputation on the board is so positive that I had no problem buying the truck sight-unseen except for a half dozen photos.
When I finally received the truck (lost in transit - long story) I was very pleased to find it's condition perfectly matched what Bill had passed along to me as well as a pile of paperwork pertaining to the truck dating back to the mid-90's including full owners manual, bills for repairs and what seems to be the build sheet.
Even with the engine dying the transaction was a very positive experience.
