I've always wondered about vehicles with the locks shaved. How do you get in if your remote/battery fails? Is there a switch somewhere to manually unlock the doors and if so can the thieves find it?

i'll check with a friend of mine to see what he installs to get around a remote failure....

not to push you to shave the locks, but i checked with my friend like i had mentioned i would....he said it could be as little as a bicycle cable (on a budget) could be used to manually unlock one of the doors...keep in mind that the cable needs to be set up to unlock when you pull it though...and in a secret location...

I'll probably be getting a camera for my house, even though there's a garage .

you can run a small 1 channel capture card off of your pc that will only record motion in front of your house....x10.com has affordable stuff like that....anything that moved today will be a several .wmv files to review when you get home or wake up in the morning...i use something like that at work and you forget you have it until you need it... not a bad idea

if some punk ever tries to break into your truck and you happen to catch him.... the only things you need is a shovel, a backyard and a bag of lime.

I live in an apartment complex so I don't have my own backyard. Could I use yours?

Actually, I used to cremate people for a living so I'd probably just stick with what I know and use the fire route. Never heard of anyone finding a pile of ashes in a shallow grave have ya?
