The Sy from down under.....

Jimmy couldn't resist any longer and showed up today in 30 degree temps to tinker, wax and check out the Sy I acquired a few weeks ago.....another vehicle I didn't need but for the price, one I couldn't turn down. Changed out the wheels/tires for now, installed a HD propshaft in it, let Jimmy wax it while I removed the sediment and after a meal, took it down the road for a spin. Runs like a champ.....and doesn't look too bad either for being 17 years old and sporting the original paint . I need to replace the fog light lenses and clean the wheel wells but otherwise, what do you think?

I think it's gonna clean up real nice.

BTW the cladding hasn't been touched yet,and the paint is about 50% of where it's gonna be.

I agree Mike. Matter of fact, I have a nice teardrop set in the garage to put on it. Definately have to lower it like Adam said (the back anyway) AND I need to shave the spindle bolts to install the front wheel caps. The inside cleaned up real nice overall and now awaits a detail. If it sported the original stereo and didn't have the exhaust tips sawed off behind the rear axle, it would definately be considered 100% stock before we started monkeying around with it.

Thats a good lookin truck you got there. I used to have one just like that :rotf: I sawed the tips off because they were rusty chrome, it looks much better with out them. The wheels look good can't wait to see it when you are done.

The best part is it's a 100% original under the hood never dorked with runner with no rust, and. it was bought for a hand full of magic beans.

Can't beat that.

Thanks Doug. I already added a new bed cover. Doesn't snug all the way to the bed like I prefer but I have a fix for that soon so it will be black underneath instead of brushed aluminum in color. It's nice to have a friend like Jimmy close by to give good advice.
