The Mustand was too chicken?

Hardman was down last night working on his ty. (no hell didn't freeze over but close).

So around 11:30 we decided to head to the local "hangout". On the way, not far from my house there is a black early 90's mustang turning in front of me. It is lowered, looks like drag radials, headers are really low, sounds good actually, cowl hood, etc.

Couple miles up I get a chance to pull up at a red light next to him.

As we are pulling up I told hardman "You know what is going to happen right?

So as I pull up the guy in Mustang revs his engine a bit, inches forward. I returned a quick rev, inch forward.

Wait for light, building much boost would just result in spin. Light changes green, I leave instantly at 1-2 psi. I look back and he is still at the light. I suspect wondering what just happened.

We laugh that he didnt want to get beat in front of his friend in pass seat. As we continue on to the "spot" I gave the mustang a chance to hit 2 more red lights. Would you believe he wouldn't pull up along side me?

Get to spot, he continues on. Later he rolls in and parks about 50ft from us. Hardman overhears him saying "I didn't know he wanted to race, next thing I know he was just GONE!"

We were both laughing. Wouldn't come over talk to us, I think he knew what the outcome would have been had tried, yet didn't want to be beat by a SUV.

I sold my mustang a couple of months ago, and bought a 92 ty. I love it, its the best vehicle I have ever owned.

hey i have a mustang...they are fun quick cars, but i would never race a sy or a ty...
the thing about the mustangs, no darn bloody knuckles and no tuning headaches.

I heard through a friend that the car run's 6's on spray at the track. Of course the street would probably level things out a bit.
