the Blazer lives !!

I got the Blazer running a week or so ago. I have put about 300 miles on it so far and it is definitely fun to drive. I haven't done a "boost launch" just yet but it leaves hard just stomping it from a dead stop. Even in the rain, lol. I am running about 9 psi right now so its probably around 500 hp at the wheels I would guess.

The bad part is I have an oil leak and the motor is probably going to have to come out to fix it. I dont know if I can stand for it to be down long, after getting to drive it a little, I might have to take a little time off work and just fix it !!

Nice pics. I see you don't have A/C........are you just planning on ditching it?

What did you do for the oilpan?

How about motor mounts?

Hey, you got any photos of the ghetto turbo on the Busa? I owned an 03' SE stock, but looking at a 05' in Graphite Gray and want to turbo it. Cant wait to see that Blazer in action.

I have a Lq4 truck motor......it has H beam rods, custom forged blower pistons, professionally done heads, etc etc. It was in my 2002 Silverado and with a supercharger and some spray and it made about 725 at the wheels. Thars kinda my goal with the Blazer, 700 or so hp on boost only, no spray.

This is about the only one I could dig up......it was taken when I was installing the kit.

Ahh, well I didn't see the A/C in the other pics.

What oilpan and motor mounts did you use?

I used the oilpan and mounts from Turbo time. I had to scoot the motor as far forward as it would go to get as much A/C compr to frame clearance as I could and that made the pan hit the front diff. I clearanced it with a ball peen hammer and thats where my oil leak is now :(

Doesnt look too ghetto to me. I have only seen the Mr Turbo setup around here. Is your custom?
I knew a guy back in Illinois that run an ond 78 or so KZ900 with a ghetto turbo. But the whole bike was pretty damn ghetto. Good times!

I bought the Silverado brand new in 2001 and had the blower strapped on it by the time it had 1400 miles on the clock. It snowballed as most projects always do and at one time I was the 3rd fastest NBS Chevy truck over on LS1tech. Basically I got tired of it and bored with it.....I was doing all it could do without making some sacrifices (losing some weight somehow, and 4 linking it more than likely) and I didn't want to do those things so I put it all back to stock and sold it. Thats when the Blazer entered the pic.....I was looking for a Ty and wanted to put my drivetrain in it but I was having trouble finding one in the condition I wanted for the $$ I wanted to spend and I still was wrestling with the idea of hacking up a real Ty to do this. I love the Sy Ty's and I had mixed feelings about cramming a V8 down in one. Then I spotted this Blazer on a used car lot and it was in very good condition so I just bought it and havent looked back yet !!

The ghetto kit is made by a guy named Dennis who owns the website suzukihayabusa.org He is THE guru on Busas The kit is very nice-well designed and fits like it was a factory option. I am planning on upgrading it to around 500 hp sometime in the near future. Can't have enough power.....
