th350 trannys (anyone using them)

looking for some imput about any of you who have done a th350 swap....Mike Lee is my man once this goes down, but i'm looking for any opininos/advice on this subject...I know i loose overdrive, and i was told that the shifting is either under vacuum or WOT....

any comments would help...i need a tranny and i'm thinking aboug going this route...its seems its the stronger of my options, unless i do some crazy 700r tranny build...no thanks!

I know of a friend with a th350, hes told me that the only downside is the gas milage, it sucks, told me he gets around 7mpg.

I have a TH350. Gas Milege sux. I have some issues with it shifting even at WOT if I dont come off a launch. So if I floor it from a 15mph roll it wont shift till i let off the gas. same with the 2-3 shift. Its good for racing. thats about it. I top out at 110mph and Im right on the red line. Could get it regeared Im sure. Hope this helps.

it affects you top speed capability...thanks for that info. i have head about the odd shifting it has, but thought at WOT its not affected...like you said, good for racing i guess.

yeah, I mean if you hit top speed (110) in the 1/4 I guess that is mid-low 11's? But you can get it geared however you want. Id say get a built 700r4 though. Thats my opinion

IMHO 110 MPH is not enough for low/mid 11's. Maybe a very high 11, that's all. There are guys out there running 115-117's with high 11's...

Last time i ran i went 11.00 at 128.98mph and never got into 4th gear.
I like the turbo350 idea, if i did another tranny I would go that route.
