Tell me how to install a bleeder valve

Never Satisfied

220/221 whatever it takes
I am installing a Turbonetics bleeder valve to control boost. The instructions show how to hook it up using an external wastegate. Can anyone tell me how to route the lines to make this work using the stock style wastegate? I have a 3 bar chip and also wondered if I can eliminate the wastegate solenoid? Thanks guys,
Brent

Edit*** The stock wastegate ran to the solenoid and got it's boost source right off the turbo. Can I just use the barbed fitting on the compressor and run it through the bleeder valve and down to the wastegate?

Re: Tell me how to install a bleeder valve

i have the manual valve as well.

the routing goes...

Port nipple on turbo - to - inlet side of valve (bottom)
Outlet side of valve - to - WG actuator

yes, you do eliminate the stock solenoid.

i've been played with mine for a while, trying to get minimal spool time (i have stock turbo).

it ends up, i screwed my WG rod as far in (made it shorter) as much a i could, that improved spool time... but your boost runs wild, which is where the valve comes in.

to run 15psi, i have to cranked my valve almost all the way open (open=less boost).

so now, my turbo is spooling as quick as it can, and i control my boost level via the valve.

and the boost control is solid.

Thats Boostvalve and not a bleeder valve. A bleeder works differently from boostvalve which use a ball and spring.
I don't thing you can hook up turbonetics bleeder valve with the stock wastegate or any one port wastegate.

Re: Tell me how to install a bleeder valve

I had to call mike to help me. Boost Pressure = From Turbo , Vacuum Port = To Wastegate

After that turn the knob all the way the + side, that will be your starting point. Think of the +/- as how much pressure do you want to see go thought it. + for all pressure (in other words opens the wastegate at level pressure) - for no pressure (in other words the dam thing will not open A LOT OF BOOST)

I have pictures if you need them.
