How many motorcycles actually hold track records? I don't think there is a major track out there where a bike owns the quickest time around...

Just to keep things fair and unbiased, here's the data from Nürburgring on current record holders;

Production track record:
Car: Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR; 7.22.1
Bike: MV Agusta F4R312; 7.21.8

Performance Lap record:
Car; Ferrari F1; 1.29.468 (M. Schumacher)
Bike; Ducati 999R; 1.38.843 (C. Fogarty)


That's a fairly big difference with the favor going to the F1 car...and Carl can ride well!!!

Road Atlanta: Car Record, 1.30.76 in a Scion TC
Bike Record, 1.21.68 on a Suzuki GSXR 1000

Makes you wonder what was done to that Scion Tc.

Well, you know what they say.....$$$$$ equals speed but for it to be 9 seconds slower than a performance bike, it had to have forced induction and a myriad of suspension components on it. That's moving fast around Road Atlanta!

Nope...another recent victor now: Nicolas Minassian, France; Stephane Sarrazin, France; Christian Klien, Austria; Peugeot 908 (P1), 1:06.242, 138.039

Guess I stand to be corrected because unless a GP bike comes to road atlanta, I don't see a supersport bike running that quick! Not so sure a GP bike would even delve into that territory.

Willow springs track record is or was held by a Formula1 or Indy or Grand Prix car?

I think if you use one of those class of cars they will set the track record almost anywhere.

They are like go karts w/four sticky tires to the ground,a bike does not,it only has two,& the corning speed of a car to a bike GP to GP there is no comparision. Car ,,all the way!
