Good to hear Chris. You ever go to cruisin down there and stop by Culver's. This kid I know says he's seen a solid black Ty there a few times. Might be going down there on weekends to cruise with a bunch of Olds fanatics. Might see ya around. Watch for a flock of 80's cutlass's.
Come down to Culver's this Friday....I plan on attending for sure. I gotta call tomorrow and find out for sure if the trucks done or not, but I will be at Culver's no matter what. Either in the Ty or a 94 Mustang GT Convertible, red with tan top. Hope you can make it and I'll see you there.

Riding with my dad by 114th and Dodge when I see the front end of what I thought was Ty a few car lengths behind us. Sat there looking back telling my dad to slow down when he changed lanes and I saw it was a truck. On top of that, it was white on grey. So I get my hopes up and was about to need a change of pants thinking maybe for some reason there's a challenge 92 Sy runnin around Omaha. Then he got close enough I realized it was a Sonoma GT. A decent piece of the front bumper was cracked off on the driver's side and it looked like it had a Maaco paint job on it. In some spots is was even wearing through and looked to be red under the paint. Was sitting on some cheapo American's covered in propably 10 years of brake dust. The truck was dirty as all hell and had pink spots where I'm guessing the paint was wearing through to show an original red. One of the saddest sites I've seen in quite awhile. I was gonna ask the gangsta lookin kid about his truck but he looked at me all cocky like he wanted an ass whoopin. Next time I see him, I'm gonna try and get him to sell it. The kid obviously don't know anything and maybe I could pick me up a GT for a steal. I definately like the white on grey though.

Old thread, but hey, I'm a new member.
I live in Omaha and just got a Syclone. Do you guys (or anyone you know) know anything about these trucks (as far as tuning them)? There's a guy by the last name of Neal here in town that supposedly built a really quick one. Works in North O. It would be nice if I knew his first name. I'd be interested in meeting any locals that could help me with my truck.

Scott Neal. My dad's good friends with him, but he sold his Sy a long, long time ago. Now he's got a Viper to toy around with. He has a little shop right on the corner of 13th and Ames.
Oh, and the S10 I was talking about in my first post, I now own. So if you see a beat up green 96' S-10 with obnoxiously loud exhaust in Millard, say what's up. :lol:

Hello.I know I am bringing up a old post.I WAS in the market in the Mid 90's with no avail(And will be soon) So I ALWAYS kept a eye out for them..I know the guy(Used to hang out with him) who has the Teal one with the "wall o' 15's"(It is somewhat back together,He even scraped the black paint off the windows,but needs alot of help)and I REALLY want that one,,I know the history of it,but I havent talked to him in awhile,so hopefully he still has it.I talked to a guy at the "Grease Monkey" who had a Sy(Drool),and the Werner one,,,is NOT Aspen Blue,,It is black(and a respray of House Of Kolors Black with a blue stripe :tdown: ) I know He also has a wall o' 15's "I" installed(Not by choice) Including the $1,000 of Dynamat I installed.It doesnt look good anymore It has been molested.I remember back in 1998 seeing a guy who was driving a Sy in the salt/snow.I almost got out of my car and punched him for that!!! Who was driving a Sy down 84th last wednesday? Sounded like a pretty healthy truck too.
I'd probably have a truck by now but I got stupid and put thousands of dollars into my S-10. :squint: If you see a 96 S-10 with a Bravada grille and painted like a 1983 Hurst Olds (possibly on 18"s), chances are it's me. I suppose I'll have twenty other unplanned projects come along before I get a Ty, but what the hell. :lol:
Allmotorswift, are you sure the truck wasn't originally Aspen? I had heard from a few different people Clint's Ty was Aspen.
As for the guy with the teal Ty, he also has a wrecked out red 92. The front end is plowed pretty bad, but a guy I know said there was still a bunch of parts there.
I also saw a black Ty over by U-Pull-It a couple of months ago. It had those vented tail light covers and I could have sworn I saw a windshield visor as well.
My dad said he saw a red on grey Ty at his buddies funeral awhile ago too.

I just saw you driving down Center street a few weeks ago. I'll admit that I wasn't very fond of the solid blue in the pictures, but seeing it in person is a whole different story. That's one damn slick looking truck!oboym said:

Just thought I'd update. That Ty that was for sale on 60th and Center is supposedly the one that used to belong to the guy in my neighborhood. A customer of ours tried to test drive it but the seller wouldn't let him. He fired it up on the lot and supposedly it was missing and knocking. They replaced the three stock wheels with a set of chrome Z06's the last I heard, but I'm sure it's sold by now.
I saw a lowered Jimmy driving around with SyTy wheels on it a few weeks ago, and I suspect they came off that Ty.
Saw a clean black Ty awhile back, and I tink it was the same guy I saw a few years ago and posted about on page three.
So are any of you guys still around even? If you are and you're interested in meeting up with some local sport truckers, you should check out the S10forum.com midwest area. I haven't been posting here much and will probably post even less as I've kind of lost interest in all first generation S10's.
If any of you see a guy about 6 foot with short dirty blonde/brown hair and a red goatee driving the truck below, say what's up. If it's a shorter or older guy, it's probably not me.

Sadly the Batten's are holding it back though. That's more of a temporary set up for the time being and it made 842hp. Not exactly an easy feat to do with a big block Olds, but after a winter tune up it should be making a bit more with some light revisions.
Edit: Sorry I haven't gotten back to you on those bushings.
We've been swamped with dyno work lately and the guy who knows all the details about the motorhome stuff hasn't been around much. I'll see if he has some free time to get you some details tonight.
