Hey Eric, I'll run you again. I just found out about this topic today. I do think it's funny how all these people get upset over nothing. You didn't see my second dyno run did you? It only made like 230hp because the #2 plug wire finally gave up. My buddy Charlie and I were just having a good time with you on the street. I think it will be a good match on the street. You going out to Kmart Saturday night? I don't think I talked shit 6 months ago, just no one wanted to race me. Everyone was saying, " we don't want to waste our time on a 14 second truck". That's funny my truck was only runnning 13.30's then. I'm trying to get my POS running ok again. Two weeks ago it went 13.15 on 5 1/2 cylinders. I enjoy a good street race, it's just alot of people get scared when Mike Clark tells them I'll wear them out.
P.S. All Wheel Drive does suck. I can't wait to go to RWD. I lose 650 pounds and pick up 60hp.

I almost hate to bother posting in this ridiculous topic, but I would give the edge to the GMC in a 0-60 race, even if the Subaru is modded.
I have a Sy and a WRX (stock), and off the line it is no comparison. If I really want to hammer the WRX and dump the clutch it will launch hard, but I seriously doubt most owners will do it, and who knows how long it will hold up.
The Sy on the other hand leaves ridiculously hard and should put several lengths on the WRX, discouraging him from continuing. From a roll, the higher the speed, the better the WRX feels to me. I think it would be pretty close from about 40mph on up.
Driving-wise, the WRX is by far the better and more enjoyable ride, but that's kind of off-topic.

but ian and i do know onefastsuv and foggedv6....
i will say the blazer is pretty nasty...it pulled on me pretty hard on a backroad.... i left with no boost, about a 15mph rollon...it was like i was sitting still...
the s10 is also a handfull and can give up some nasty surprizes too...when hes sprayin...
these boys just like to stir up trouble :smile:

Seen it - shit its sitting in the warehouse at work....We know the owner of XS and it ended up at MotoRex... so its been sitting in there the last week. Like I said it ran a 13.8@101 in Palmdale on the 19"s... Hiros R32 ran a 12.9 @104 - intake , exhaust , computer tuning , I ran a 12.7@108 in Big Bird -10 psi of boost and Justin ran an 11.8 @119 on pump gas..

About 3 weeks ago, my buddy's twin turbo stealth owned a WRX w/ mods, upgraded turbo etc, and Bretts Stealth is 100% STOCK.
WRX's are hella fun cars to drive in my opinion, but not the FASTEST and don't hook up as well.
KGB's Syclone would hand the stealth it's ass to it soooooooo bad He wouldnt know what hit him.
So the moral of this story is.
Syclone>Stealth>WRX

I test drove a stock wrx with 2K miles on it, and was less than impressed... Seemed only marginally quicker than my Accord (and the turbo's not on yet..) I drove the shit out of it, it launched quite hard when I dropped it from about 5500 rpm, chirped the tires then went, but once going it didn't seem to pull much harder than my accord...
As for 1fastsuv and fogged v6, How fast are your trucks once the bottle is empty??? Still quick most likely, but not fast...
Spraying 1?? HP how long does a 10 lb bottle last you anyways? 3 1/4 mile runs or so?
And how about handling? I'd bet a sy or ty could run circles around either truck on the track of autocross track...
It is impressive seeing a blazer pull the tires, but you still have a truck that 1.5 billion others were made just like it....
I'd take a 13 sec stock sy ty over a done up blazer anyday!

How fast are our trucks off the bottle? The blazer could bracket race with its 12.30 every pass As for mine its slow as hell, I have'nt ran it at the track on motor since it had 500 miles on back then it went 15.68 completely stock right down to the shitty tires. Keep in mind neither of them are built to run on motor, his has a tight 3500 stall converter and a 3.73 gear with a little more gear and converter it would be in the high 11's easy. Mine on the other hand only has a 3.08 gear and a 5 speed, which Im going to be changing soon since in the past few days I found some problems and found alot more power and the limits of how much a stock clutch can take. He gets about 4 passes on one bottle and I get 8 or 9 depending on how good we fill them. How many consecutive passes can you make before you intake temp goes sky high?
Autocrossing? I bet you can. but thats not what I intended to do with mine. Thats a stupid agurment anyway, its like me bragging how I can put the blazer on a trailer and tow it out of town to race, which I do. Can you? After all its still a truck right

what i want to know is, since this topic was started back in Dec '01... did this WRX vs SY race ever happen? and if so, what was the outcome?
as far as the WRX is concerned, i like em, id never own one, but i do like them, well except for the ones that have those truly tastless gold wheels.
WRXs are really the only cars around here that ever want to race, unless you come across a 16 year old kid in his dads mustang. i personally havent lost to a WRX, but i have seen one out at palmdale running mid 13's, and the owner claimed his WRX ran 12.2 in fontana with a 1.4x 60' and that it was all stock except for a chip and a BOV. right after i talked to him, he blew up his tranny on his last run :lol: guess itll be a while before he really sees 1.4 60's
