Brian-

With all of this posting and remembering of old times, I think you STILL need to break down and get another truck....

I'm trying to justify it, which isn't working, so I'm trying to find a way to squirrel a Syty away in a garage somewhere so I can wrench on it when the mood strikes me. Maybe I just need to work on yours with you to remind me what a PITA they are.

So far, so good with mine....<knock on wood>. I have an old SYTY guru in my back pocket that helps me out when I need advice. You should find yourself one before you get one of these things;)

Wondering...where is your old Sy now adays???

That's a good question, I wonder if any of the east coast guys have heard anything about Sy160? I know the 2nd Syclone I had made its way back to Chicagoland.

Speaking of old guys, has anyone heard of Ron Gregory in a while?
It looks like http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/ is still up and running...

I used to email/IM him every few years, I believe he still had his Sy.

I'm still around. I lurk here every other day.... keeping up on the adventures of the fanny pack.

I was on the e-mail list quite a while before I found my Syclone [Feb 1995]. I even helped organize the 1st gathering in Sep 1995 in Springfield, MO. I think we had four trucks. Richard Thomlinson even came over from England. I killed my transfer case in Springfield that year.

My truck [just over 70k miles] is in the garage with a 1-spd tranny. My son blew-up the tranny a couple years ago while impressing friends with its performance. It was so bad that all four wheels wouldn't turn. I bought a Syclone racing transmission from a local owner that had it sitting on a shelf for about ten years. The truck rolls, now but only has 1st gear. I was a bit sad. I'll get someone to look at it in a few weeks... as soon as I get all my GN parts out of the way, so I can back it out of the shop.

I'm parting-out my GN [bought May 2000]. A local girl smashed into me and totaled the car with only 70k miles on it. When the ride was over, I was upsidedown in a ditch with a smashed car. I bought it back from the insurance company. I'm going to drop the drivetrain into a 1980 Turbo Trans Am I bought.
