It may be true to some out of tune trucks, you have to consider what these two vehicals can be used for. Can you race the Cobra in the rain? Probably not, Sy on the other hand you can. Lot's of pros and cons with either vehical. I think a well modified Sy V.S. Cobra-R, the Sy has track advantage the R has highway advantage. I like my truck better so I would stick up for it.

These posts are retarded.. I saw a GN owner who had megabucks into his beautiful car... gimme a week with it, I woulda had it doing mid 11s. Instead he was barely turning high 12s. I've seen ones that were nearly stock turning 11s. I've seen Syty's with tons of parts doing 14s, I've seen ones with a handful of parts doing low 12s. I've seen Vipers stuck in the 13s. I've seen Mustangs running 15s. I beat a supercharged Cobra so badly once, I couldn't recognize the car in my rear view mirror. If the race was setup on a messageboard, he would have won it there...
Stock to stock, with older cars, it will usually come down to maintenance, driver & hot rod tuning. Yup the engine matters, and what it puts out, but what serious racer can't get 300+ hp out of his engine?

I love my truck, I love the SyTy community, but if a near 400HP, $75,000 Mustang can't beat up a 11 year old pickup, that is pretty sad...

Actually, the crap that annoys me is stuff like "I heard that the new Lambo Murcielago can walk all over the Typhoon"
This stuff pisses me off to hell, moreso than someone asking if a beetle can win. Not long ago there was a post on the Supra boards about some guy who kicked the shit out of a Syclone in a street race...his sig says and has a pic of a blue 98 TT Supra, modded to 650HP. I was like "I bet your friends are so jealous that your car beat a pickup truck in a race."
The post got locked by the mod 2 posts later after the flame war started to kick in.
