Syclone Census anyone?

Ok, i have this nagging question for statistics. How many Syclones are left on the streets? I figure if I take on Sys #1300-1399 (since I own Sy #1301)and track them and we get 29 other to track their perspective number they fall into, we could come up with a really good database? Anyone interested? I may just start my list and search them out just for fun and maybe use the percentages to get an idea.

This has been tried before in many fashions. sport-machines has a good database of trucks, some people keep their own. You wont get certain figures unless you're willing to spend years tracking down each truck.. :2cents:

But if you have 30 people only tring to account for 100 trucks each, 1 being their own then 99 trucks to keep an eye out or search out? Heck in this time I have accounted for 3 trucks between 1300-1310.

So far accounted for 10 now, sportmachines has several I haven't accounted for yet.

I actually started an Excel spreadsheet for Syclones on Saturday after someone else asked about the remaining number in the US. I have checked from 1 to 2500 since then. Of course some of those entries are over a decade old; not exactly reliable info.

Even using data from Sportmachines, Jimmy's graveyard and my own records there are still a lot of blank slots on the spreadsheet.

And you will always have those blank spots. How many have been sold/shipped/stolen/taken out of the country? How are you going to get records on them?

Not everyone who owns one is internet savvy, let alone moderately active beyond email and web surfing.

It's a noble goal, but you will always come up short.

Well, I don't expect to get them all, but with the numbers we do come up with..maybe get percentages on scrapped trucks, low milage, high milage, out of the USA trucks etc.

Stage Two Syclone #2233 - living in UK.Imported new . 62,000 miles.In the process of being stripped down to the chassis for a full rebuild ,with possible uprates to suspension/engine.Will be looking for new front fenders etc.- UK climate and thin paint doesn't mix that well!
