Re: Syclone#1784

Bluetooth issue cleared up. Moates sent me the incorrect BT adapter, they then traded me for the correct BT adapter, one for the Ostrich 2.0. Also got the Wb02 hooked into the ECM.

Installed the upgraded CCHE. Dutchy's instructions called for 4 bolts to secure the CCHE to the frame, but I found it easier to weld the frame together instead. Very snug and no bolts rubbing through my expensive cooler.

Re: Syclone#1784

Thx. No problem so far. It's about 9-10 inches off the ground and completly sheilded by the bumper and wheel well. Living in California rain isn't the problem, it's passing emissions. I don't drive the truck often so it's pretty much guaranteed it won't be seeing any rain. Besides, the turbo spool is so LOUD it's worth it. :turbo:

The battle bars are sweet, I like them a lot. Ride is stiff. Bump stops are handy. Feels light, traks straight, handles tight. I gotta a bunch of shit/weight loaded in the bed right now so it looks extra low......
No, you can't hear the fan in the cab. Its pretty much the same as a honda elec radiator fan. Quazi quiet w/elec thermostat. It probably won't click on til after a couple boost launches. :)

Mount position? It was the easiest place to mount IMO. Cooling lines look pretty easy to route down there too. Thought about angling it a little but then didn't see how it'd make any real difference.

I feel so close to being done.

Re: Syclone#1784

For the record, the photo of this truck up to the tires in weeds was taken by me, a day before I bought the truck. I then spent a year of my life building the motor, relocating the battery, installing the coilovers, A2A intercooler, removing the A/C, blacking out the lights.......and restoring the truck to close to where it is now. Brian then bought the truck off of me and has changed a good amount of things since then. But I would like to make it clear that I was the one who spent hours cleaning the front clip with a big wire brush and cleaner. Brian, I don't mean to step on your project page or anything that you have done to the truck since I sold it. I just would like to set the record straight and put the credit where it is deserved. Sorry for the rant, but selling the truck was hard for me, and to read that people are just now realizing how crappy of a truck I started with, and then praise someone else for all my hard work.....It's just hard for me to watch. But ya brian I still have a extra downpipe and IAC so let me know when you would want me to bring them by.

:woot: Thanks Nello for saving the truck for the weeds of doom! great to see your efforts really to start to pay off! keep up the great work! Please keep the progress pics coming too if you can.

Dude, you had your own project page. LOL! Didn't you get some props for your work there? I gave you a few, right? Don't be :steamer: you sold the sy. You got yourself a new lady now...

I started off with thanks Sean, and people can read your sig whenever too. "#1784 sold to nello" Me. Your gonna have to get used to people talking about the truck even if your not the owner anymore, which is all the props you need BTW. It's TRUE...Sean rescued it from the tumble weeds, facilitated the engine work, completed the suspension work and lots more. And then I rescued it from him. THANKS again Sean! It's a great project, lots of good work into it now, thanks for letting me take over where you left off dooode. It's totally why i bought it, and love it. He done good, but no more cookies until Sean sells me a Ty!!

Now by no means was the truck finished, nor is it now. When I bought the truck it still had issues. It couldn't make more than 5psi, needed lots of tuning, the rust on the roof was outrageous, buncha loose ends to finish, some parrts I didn't want, ect.The suspension was removed, redialed, parts added, and I got the hamman H2s from #0895 moved over to #1784. New IC system, CAI, remote tranny cooler, lines, body work, code59, this, that and the other, more, more, more. Certainly enough changes to get a page going.

So to anybody that is actually following the progress of this truck, consider the record set straight. :syty:

Re: Syclone#1784

Brian I'm sorry if I came off harsh, and if the admen wants to delete my posts that's fine with me. I just wanted to clear up that you didn't "pull this one from the weeds" that's all. You have finished tightening up the ends I left loose on the truck, and added a bunch of cool new stuff as well, I'm not trying to take your glory. I know the truck is way better condition because you have put in the extra time it needed. So I'm sorry for the rant. I'm also sorry to see you have it for sale and wish you the best of luck selling it.

Um, she just sits right now...and it's a pity really. Mostly used as a storage proxy for junk until I find space in the garage. Runs like a champ but I've got so much other BS going on with a new baby, 2 dogs, busy job, summer vacations, and 3 other cars that I've got no time like so many others here.

However, I might be dumping two of my other cars and for sure buying my wifey a new ride. I've began thinking I could start daily driving this thing for as long as it will let me....if I can smog it  It's basically a brand new truck with 1k miles on it and ready for a new era of kills.

I hope to shoot some updated pics as I've made a few changes here and there. I've given up on the respray for now. The beat up look has really grown on me. After all, it's a truck. Thanks for noticing my ride.

In it's entirety.
