When a cashier check is printed by a bank, the funds are immediately withdrawn from the members account and put into a bank holding account until the check is redeemed. If the receiving bank manager speaks to the sending bank manager and it is verified all is good, those funds are the sellers once the check is signed and surrendered. Some banks will hold the funds until the transfer occurs unless the seller has more than the amount of the CC already in his/her account. Each bank varies on their policies but trust me, when they issue a CC, they garnish the funds to back it up.
The bank wouldnt have wrote him a cashiers check if the funds werent in his account.....and I wasnt going to risk only half and then the buyer potentially emptying his account before the other half cleared.
