It's not for sale because it's probably stolen. Although you could probably get a sy from someone on the site in similar condition (at a reasonable price) that would like to see it get fixed

Re: sy rotting away

Are you looking for a $2500 project Sy to work on with your son or to save this Syclone? If the former, you can find another syclone if your willing to travel and have some patience.

sure show me the project sy that r mostly complete and not rusted to death and yes i am also trying to save that truck.

You'd be surprised at how many people (yard owners especially) are so cavalier about having stolen property in the open. There was a dead car yard in Oak Forest (151st and Oak Park for those in the area) a few years (5+) ago, that when the property was sold I think half the cars turned out to be stolen.

I remember it because me and some buddies were interested in a late 60's W30 Olds Cutlass, and a maroon 68 firebird with 3.8 Litre badges on the hood.

yeah man its impossible to deal with car hoarders. but be persistant. My best friend and his dad are car hoarders- they have about 18 classic project cars, and id say they problably work on 1 or 2 for a day per year- most of the cars haven't been dug out for years. 1940s packer, multiple classic VWs, 65 impala, 66 impala, 53 chysler, 57 chevy 210- they have some real cool stuff

the one that always caught my eye was a 56 chevy pickup delux cab long bed- that they also had a short bed for to do the swap. I met my friend about 12 years ago and every day I went to his house and we walked past the truck id offer to buy it. 10 years later out of nowhere he called me and said still interested in my old mans 56? I was like yep- I offered him the money- when I got to my shop the next day they had already delivered it

its insanely hard for a hoarder to give up a car- but it does happen from time to time- sadly its usualy just because they ran out of funds for more projects and they can get something else they like more

Sy 1557 here so kind of close. Nick is the only one I know that has sequential Sy/Ty though.
Keep on the guy eventually he will sell. Send him Christmas cards every year. Friend of mine has been doing that for about 15 years to a guy with a real JL8 69 z28. May be striking a deal shortly from what I understand
