I second what everyone else is saying, if you drive it hard you are going to break something. It all comes down to whether you are willing to put in the work to fix what you break and spend a great deal of time working on it, than it isn't the vehicle for you.
I own a relatively stock truck that only has 27,000 miles on it and it is currently down for a few minor things (afpr {original fell apart}, 255lph walbro fuel pump {might as well replace it at same time}, i need to pull the motor and replace the oil pan {read dumb ass previous owner took it to a gm dealer that stripped the drain plug}). However, i dont drive mine more than a few thousand miles in a year and have access to a family friend that owns a shop w/a lift and all tools necessary to do about anything automotive so I don't mind much the things that need doing.
I think it has been said before that a sy/ty can be daily driven, but you aren't going to be out there racing the thing or driving it hard.
Maybe look into something like a buick grand national that seems to be a little less repair intensive.
