Sy 308 AKA "Texas Rat" for sale $5800.00

The time has come to sell the rat, so here it is. The story as far as I know is this was a Texas truck up until a few years ago when Daron had it before it went to Jeff Scott in Indiana. I aquired the truck from Jeff and brought it to Missouri. The truck has very little rust. True milage is unknown, the odometer stopped at 84k. I would estimate I have put ~ 3000 on it, so if Jeff or Daron has a clue, we may be able to get a close guess.

The truck is stock with the exeption of a Gilbert prop shaft. Interior is in decent shape, body has some dents and dings and needs paint. Cladding is all there except drivers front arch. Passenger arch is cracked but I do have a used replacement (needs to be painted to match). I also have replacement for drivers rocker cover. Rear corner cladding has some cracks as well. The starter, ball joints, hubs, CV axle and rear axle u-joints were replaced within the last 1000mi. The truck runs ok but does need a tune up. I have two sets of wheels, one stock Sy and one set from a 90 ZR-1 Vette. Stockers have some bends and I have center caps, but they need to be re-drilled for hold down bolts. The steering column also needs repair or replacement as it is loose at the tilt joint.

Sad to see it go up for sale!
I would have ventured to make a stab at it but I just paid my tax bill. Ugh.
Not buying jack shit for a few months after that one.

The body of this truck is solid. Does have a few dents and dings as he stated. Be a great starter truck to get someone going, project as you drive it. Was always reliable for me.

You all may remember that I found this truck at a small repair shop in San Antonio while looking for a place to fix the Ty's AC. I ended up buying it from the owner so he could settle his bill with the repair place. The owner was pretty much clueless; he bought the truck from his boss, the original owner. I intended on it being a project me and my daughter could get going, for her to drive. I fixed a few things and got it running pretty good, but a trip to the sandbox short circuited any designs to progress the truck. Since Jeff is all about self abuse, he decided he needed the rat bastard. Thus its trip from Texas to the North...

I sold it to a guy and his son from about an hour south of St. Louis. Haven't kept track of it past then. I do know they were also owners of a Ty. I told them about the site but never saw them on.
