Re: Sy # 2047

Well some bad news and some good news.

Bad news, the truck was totaled by insurance. It was hurt a lot worse than I had originally thought. A lot worse. Frame is so bent you wouldn't believe it.

So after 2 yrs of sitting the truck is going to get parted out......

Good news
So how weird is this, last year I lost my job and had decided to sell my truck as is, wrecked but complete. I take a bunch of pics and wrote out a whole ad. I had about 4 hrs in this process. I jump on Syty and hit trucks for sale to list mine and would you believe that the first thread on top was a for sale ad for a decent Sy roller IN MY STATE. WTF I say to myself.....no way!!!

Alright fine I decide. I guess my truck isn't going away after all.

I went and looked it over and bought it. I got it home and it sat for a year as I got caught up on other projects.

A very good friend of mine and a former Ty owner had said I could use his garage and lift to do my swap while I stayed at his house which is pretty frickin awesome! So Thanksgiving day I headed to his place, had a nice dinner with his family and started work the next day.

It took a lot longer than I expected but he and his wife were super cool about it!
The truck runs n drives and is home now. It's not finished or roadworthy yet but it's very close. Have a few parts I need to re fab up like my charge pipes and It should be Good to go!

I do however need a few cladding pieces if anyone has what I need.

I can't remember all of the ones I need but I do know the pass rear bed piece is missing.

Do you have photos of your transfer project?
Koodo's to your friend for lending you space to make it happen!
My closest friends & I have exchanged and stored parts, and project cars, for each other many times over the years that would have otherwise been sold or traded off. We have a few choice all-original projects soon to come out of mothballs after about 20-25 year hiatis (63 Fairlane 500, 63 F100 Unibody, 65 Ranchero).
Good luck finishing your project.
